EXECUTE THOSE CAMPAIGN PROMISES, says Akele

SEVEN YEARS AFTER THE DEATH OF GANI THE STRUGGLE CONTINUES.

Federal Government has been challenged to speed up the execution of campaign promises made to the public without delay. execute  

The chairman Gani Fawehinmi Memorial Organization, GAFAMORG, Mr Ayodele Akele made the submission at the 7th memorial Press Conference in Lagos.

Mr Akele noted that the negligence on part of the present government on the campaign promises is now telling on the masses, especially in the area of job provision, security and made adequate supply of food stuffs to the market.

Mr Akele, also calls on the administration to always guide against nepotism most especially in the area of appointments that is expected to be based on merit.

He explained that attention should also be focused on the devaluation of naira to enhance the nation’s economy.

However, reflecting on the death of Gani Fawehinmi, those things he would have done, battles he would have fought on behalf of the masses, the several articles he would have written challenging the unjust decision of the government of the day and condemning the travails to which the masses today are being subjected to.

The GAFAMORG calls on the Federal Government to immortalize Gani by renaming the headquarters of the National Human Commision, Abuja, after him as Chief Gani Fawehinmi Human Rights House, and establishment of Gani Fawehinmi Freedom Square in Abuja as a freedom square where aggrieved Nigerians, NGOs, CSOs activists ‘can gather peacefully without any molestation to protest and ventilate their angers over bad government.
