Balogun Market Burnt Down!

LASEMA Response Teams and other First Responders at the scene of the fire incident in Balogun market, Lagos, 29th January, 2020.

According to our source, the fire incident was as a result of a young man pouring in fuel inside generator, without switching off the generator. Over 40 shops were burnt down.

Fire Outbreak.


Fire Outbreak: Scene of fire outbreak at Mokuola Street, Ogba, Lagos State on January, 24, 2020. A total number of about 10 shops were burnt down.

According to information gathered, the fire outbreak was as a result of the carelessness of a young gardener from the north who was asked to clear a space of land, he later gathered the dirties together burning it, and he left the scene, only for some hours later the fire ignited other shops resulting to fire beyond control.

However, the Firefighters control number wasnt reachable on time, it took them about three hours before they could get to the scene. In a bid to speak to the team of the firefighter, in other to ascertain why it took them long to respond on time, he refused.

One of the shop owners noted that almost all his goods got burnt, noting that where will he start from, now that there nothing to pick from his shop again.
