The Polish Government Murdered Shola.

Gbemile Oluwatosin

How can a cheering, lively and pleasant conversation with my sister leads to death without any form of serious ailment, this was the lamentation of Mrs, Abimbola Essien-Nelson while briefing journalists in Lagos on the unlawful cremation and burial of Oluwashola Atunrayo Gaska.

Exactly, 11:28AM 28th December 2016, Shola's husband, Mr, Jakub Gaska call me on phone only to inform me that Shola is died as a result of anaemia and low haemoglobin level which non of the family never saw the hospital test before Shola was cremated and buried.

The last conversation I had with my sister Shola was on the 24th of December, 2016, only to receive a call from her husband Mr, Gaska that Shola is died and will be cremated immediately.

In spite of several pleas, he went ahead to cremate his dead wife on January 2, 2017. Not only that, he held a burial service to bury the ashes on January 7, 2017 without officially informing any member of her Nigerian family.

Mrs, Essien-Nelson noted that the late Olushola’s family are suspicious of foul play in the death of their sister: ‘We understand Jakub has the final say over the funeral rites for late Shola and as shocking as the cremation request was, we were willing to honour her 'supposed' wishes. What we could not understand was why Jakub deprived our family from seeing Shola's corpse.

Mrs, Essien-Nelson, noted that non of the family members (immediate or extended) was allowed to pay their last respects to Shola nor were they allowed to sight her body. ‘The only reason given by Jakub was that he was fulfilling his wife's 'wishes.

Before her death, late Mrs Oluwashola Atunrayo Gaska nee ADEFOLALU was born on 25th of September, 1980 to the family of late Professor, Daniel Oladele Adefolalu a respected Meteorologist and Climatologist, lived with her husband, Jakub at UI Owiecimska 33, 32-551, Wygielzow GMINA Babice District, Chrzanow County, Lesser Poland, a suburb of Krakow where there matrimonial home was as at the time they got married 15th August, 2010. She was into cinematography and her latest film was about to be shown in the cinema. A graduate of Architect in Poland.

However, the families of late Shola calls on the Polish authorities as well as the Nigerian Embassy in Poland, the Federal Government and relevant agencies to investigate the sudden and suspicious death of their relative and circumstances surrounding the handling of her body.
